Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
In short: the EntryCatch browser extension does not collect, store or send any personal or financial data. Everything it does happens inside your browser. We only receive information you choose to send us, such as an email.
This policy covers the EntryCatch browser extension for QuickBooks Online ("the extension"), the website at entrycatch.com ("the website"), and how we handle email you send us. "We" and "us" mean EntryCatch.
1. The browser extension
Where it runs
The extension runs only on QuickBooks Online pages at qbo.intuit.com and its subdomains. It does not run on any other website.
What it looks at
When you open a new transaction form in QuickBooks Online, the extension reads the date in the form's date field and compares it with today's date on your computer. It also watches the form's Save buttons so it can ask you before a date that isn't today is saved. This happens entirely in your browser.
The extension does not read, copy or store your customers, vendors, amounts, accounts, reports or any other QuickBooks data. The only thing it changes in a form is the date, when you ask it to or have set it to do so automatically.
What it stores
The extension stores only your EntryCatch settings: what to do for each transaction type, whether to ask before saving, and whether EntryCatch is paused. They are saved with Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.sync). If you are signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Google syncs these settings between your own browsers as part of your Google account, under Google's privacy policy. We never receive them.
What it sends
Nothing. The extension makes no network requests of its own. It has no analytics, tracking, advertising or remote code, and there is no EntryCatch server it talks to.
Permissions
- storage: to save your settings, as described above.
- Access to qbo.intuit.com: to check the date on QuickBooks Online forms.
The extension does not ask for any other permission.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The extension does not collect or use user data. Its handling of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell user data, transfer it to third parties, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
2. The website
The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't use that information to identify you.
If we add analytics in the future, we will use a cookie-free, privacy-friendly service and update this page first.
3. When you email us
If you email us, for example to get early access, reserve a founding spot, report a problem or request a new safeguard, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply to you and to improve EntryCatch. We don't sell or share it, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Please don't send screenshots or files that show your customers' details or financial data. If you do, we delete them once we no longer need them to help you.
If you request a new safeguard, we may describe it publicly on our roadmap or request board, without your name, your company's name, customer names, amounts or any other financial details. We never ask for access to your QuickBooks account; we recreate the mistake in a QuickBooks Online test company instead.
4. Payments
When founding memberships go on sale, payments will be processed by a third-party payment provider, named at checkout. We will receive your name, email address and order details from them. We never see or store your card number.
5. Your choices and rights
You can remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions. You can ask us to see or delete any emails or information we hold about you by writing to hello@entrycatch.com, and we will do so within 30 days.
6. Children
EntryCatch is a business tool and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what the extension collects, we will describe it here before the new version of the extension is released.
